Katherine C. (“Kasey”) Wagner gained admission to the North Carolina State Bar and the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina in 2004. She added admissions to the Eastern and Middle Districts of the United States District Court in 2005. Ms. Wagner’s practice focuses on the litigation of cases in personal injury, nursing home abuse, automobile accidents, truck accidents, and wrongful death. Ms. Wagner is a member of the New Hanover County Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina State Bar, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. Ms. Wagner has been named a Rising Star by the North Carolina Super Lawyers publication for 2011 and 2012, designating her as one of the top lawyers under the age of 40 in the state.
Ms. Wagner graduated magna cum laude from Wake Forest University in 2000, after double-majoring in both Politics and Sociology. At Wake Forest, Ms. Wagner was on the Dean’s List every semester, and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society, the Golden Key academic honor society, Pi Sigma Alpha (the national political science honor society), and Alpha Kappa Delta (the national sociology honor society). Ms. Wagner was also an active member of WFU’s Student Government and the Screamin’ Demons, the university’s spirit organization.
Ms. Wagner continued her education at Wake Forest University School of Law, attending law school on a full-ride scholarship. She graduated from law school in the top third of her class and competed nationally on the Association of Trial Lawyers of America’s trial team.
Prior to working for injured individuals, Ms. Wagner spent five years litigating injury cases for the insurance companies. This specialized insider knowledge of how the insurance companies approach injury cases gives Ms. Wagner an edge both in negotiating and in the courtroom. Ms. Wagner has successfully tried injury cases all over the state of North Carolina.
Originally from Florida, Ms. Wagner’s interests include spending time with her family, traveling, scuba diving, boating, kayaking, and hiking. Ms. Wagner is an avid runner and competes in nearly all local races, along with several half marathons each year. Ms. Wagner also serves as the Fundraising Chair on the Executive Committee for the New Hanover County Relay for Life, along with directing the annual American Cancer Society Determination Dash 15k, 5k, and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk in Wilmington.
Paralegal Jodi DeLuca works on both pre-litigation and litigation personal injury cases. Jodi is an integral part of our team, working closely with both attorneys in our office. On the pre-litigation side, Jodi is responsible for many aspects of case management, including collecting medical records and bills, setting up claims, corresponding with insurance adjusters, and organizing settlement disbursements. In her responsibilities for litigation cases, Jodi assists with all aspects of a case including scheduling, filing, calendaring deadlines, and preparation of discovery responses and document productions.
Jodi has served as a North Carolina certified paralegal for over eight years. Prior to working as a paralegal, Jodi was employed by State Farm for 15 years as a licensed insurance agent providing auto, home, life, health, Medicare supplements, disability, and long term care policies. Her extensive knowledge of the inner workings of insurance companies provides her with the tools she needs to help injured people navigate the complicated maze of making a successful claim.

Donna Snyder, the Office Manager of The Law Offices of Richard Flexner, works closely with the firm’s professional and administrative staff, as well as with the firm's clients, to ensure that all cases progress towards settlement or trial. Skilled at her job, possessing great attention to detail, and holding a North Carolina Adjusters license, Donna also works closely with the firm’s highly trained case managers, to assist our negligence clients with issues involving vehicle repair, rental cars and medical questions that arise during the course of their treatment; and to assist our workers' compensation clients with issues involving the timely receipt of their disability checks, as well as travel and prescription reimbursements.
Donna, prior to becoming the Office Manager, worked for several years as a legal assistant. In addition, she also brings a medical and physiological background to her work. Her prior work experiences enable her to communicate well with our client's medical providers and expert medical witnesses. She is adept at obtaining, reviewing and evaluating relevant medical records, and resolving medical and insurance billing issues. She is able to offer valuable advice to our clients as they progress through their course of medical treatment.

Jenine Flexner, B.S., M.B.A., Economics, is the firm's resident financial expert. Jenine ensures that the firm's business operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Jenine is also available to the firm's clients to provide free, informal guidance and advice regarding financial issues that arise as a result of their injuries, during the time that their cases are pending, or after they receive their settlements or awards.
In addition, Jenine provides valuable assistance to the firm regarding client economic and financial loss issues. She assists in understanding and evaluating our clients' financial losses, such as claims for past lost income and future reduction in earnings capacity. She also provides insight into how best to prove those claims legally. While she does not serve as an economic expert for our clients, she does provide assistance to the firm in its work with outside economic experts hired on behalf of firm clients.
